Beautiful Harvest (Grow Fruit) reminds us to be intentional to bear fruit (and keep bearing fruit), and not just in the moments it’s easy to do so, but also in the moments it stretches us and grows our character.

{hearing and seeing} I heard the words “beautiful harvest.” In the Spirit, I sensed abundant, ripe fruit available to us.

I sense the Father calling us to greater awareness of the fruit of the Spirit within us. When busy surviving life’s latest trial, it’s natural to focus on our weariness and pain. We may not see what we have gained from our spiritual gauntlet of endurance.

Scripture teaches us that trials and suffering produce perseverance, character, and hope within us (Romans 5:3-5). Just as an athlete pushes themselves to develop greater muscle strength, difficulties strengthen Christ’s nature within us. We gain access to a new level within the divine image.

But before we work on our next set of spiritual benchpresses, God is calling us to pause and see the fruit of the Spirit produced within us. Greater power is flowing within us—the power of divine love. There’s rich fruit available to you. And it’s time to put it to good use. 

The Lord says there are barriers and blocks you couldn’t even budge before. But you might surprise yourself with what you can do with the upgraded strength that’s now within you. There are situations you used to run from or felt ill-equipped to handle. But if you pause and draw upon the Spirit, you’ll now sense more of the mind of Christ within you. And the mind of the Holy One is overflowing with solutions to old problems. 

The LORD is opening our spiritual eyes and ears, drawing us to acknowledge and draw upon the beautiful harvest of His Spirit within us!

Romans 5:3-5 (NIV) Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Be moved with compassion. Hear past the outer layer of a situation to the heart of the matter. Allow your discernment to grow and increase as you cultivate your spiritual senses and tune in more and more accurately to My frequency. Be patient with the process and remember it will always be ongoing for you cannot begin to fathom the depths of Me. Allow My Spirit time and space to move in you. Align with Me. Abide in Me. Bear fruit.

There are blessings that only come in My presence and I desire those for you greatly. Come be with Me and see what comes forth as a result.

John 15:4 (AMP) Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.

A few years ago, I was reading an article about the human soul from a Jewish perspective, and I was struck by the following phrase, “The root of the soul is God.” These words resonated within me as truth, particularly in light of the creation account. The Word says that God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). While the rest of creation was formed through God’s speech, God bestowed humanity with a little piece of Himself in order to bring us to life.

Yet to have a little piece of the Eternal One isn’t such a little thing when we really stop to think about it. Our humanity enshrouds a potent drop of the Divine. Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit maintains the connection between the human soul and God, enabling us to be extensions of Him in the earth. How amazing!

Although we cannot see our souls, it is much like the idea of a seed that is planted, sprouts roots, and steadily grows into a tree. A tree’s origins as a small seed can often seem like a distant memory. However, that seed is still a present reality in the life of the tree. The small seed contained all of the genetic information necessary to bring the full-grown tree into existence. Essentially, the tree is an extension of a tiny yet mighty seed.

In the midst of a fallen world, this truth can embolden us if we’re able to grasp ahold of it. We may more frequently focus on our human fragility and failings, but the miracle in the midst of our imperfections is that a small seed of the Divine resides within us. When we are willing to tap into our connection with God through the Holy Spirit, He is able to strengthen our inner being with His power (Ephesians 3:14).

I often tap into this overcoming power when I choose to view my circumstances through the lens of my identity as an extension or child of God. How does the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God view my current problems? Of course, my problems quickly dwarf in size when I remember who I’m seated in heavenly places with (Ephesians 2:6). To know that I was created by and am held by perfect love is empowering, for it opens my heart to receive the character, wisdom, knowledge—the very fullness—of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (NIV) For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 2:6-7 (NIV) And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

I once had a dream where the whole world was united in divine love. That love began in our hearts as a golden light radiating throughout our bodies. As that love moved outside our bodies, it became like a fabric that interconnected us. I felt complete oneness with all people, all of creation, and God.

As the dream progressed, my youngest sister, Emme, lost something precious to her. As I asked her what she was looking for, my father, who was standing at a distance, criticized Emme for her constant irresponsibility. Instead of responding to him, I had an inner knowing that his words were not beneficial and that it rather would be more helpful to help Emme focus on a solution. 

People surrounded us, and Emme was afraid someone would steal her precious item. I reminded her that now that we were all one, we wouldn’t have to fear anyone taking what wasn’t theirs. Even more, we could trust others and ask for help finding her item; ultimately, I knew they would pitch in and help out of mutual love for their neighbor. And that’s precisely what happened. Within a few moments, Emme’s item was found.

This dream left a deep impression on me. Oneness with God is a subject I meditate on often, and I’ve had spiritual experiences that have given me a glimpse of what pure oneness with humanity could be like. Divine love is always at the center of it. 

As I sought God for revelation and the practical application of this dream in my daily life, the fruit of the Spirit was highlighted to me. A moment that stood out strongly was my choice not to react to or reinforce my father’s harsh words to my sister (a fleshly response); instead, I chose loving action (a spiritual response). Like a doctor prescribing specific medicines to heal an ailment, the voice of divine love in my heart prescribed gentleness, patience, and peace as a remedy to Emme’s predicament. 

As the Passion Translation describes beautifully, “the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions.” As I’ve experienced in my walk with God, divine love comes in many forms. And through the Holy Spirit and according to the new covenant, God’s law of divine love is written upon the tablets of our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33). As we abide in Christ and bear the fruit of the Spirit, we have an abundant harvest to draw from to remedy every situation in our lives.

Jeremiah 31:33-34 (ESV) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

A message from Graham Cooke called “Sin Has Been Dealt With” is connected to this (this is a portion of the transcript).

For God to work on the old nature, he must first tread underfoot the cross of Jesus Christ. He must deny its overall power to create freedom….

That’s why God is not dealing with your old nature. He’s dealt with it. 

I was talking to a guy a while back and wanting to get to know him. And he said, “Well, Graham, if we’re going to be friends, you need to know one thing about me…. I’ve got an anger problem.”

I said, “OK. How long have you had it?”

He said, “Since I was about six.”

I said, “How old are you now?”

He said, “I’m 42.”

I said, “How long have you been saved?”

He said, “I got saved at 21.”

I said, “Dude, for half your life, you have not had an anger problem. For half your life, you’ve been dead to it. Your problem is you live in a system that resurrects your behavior every single day. 

“Here’s the thing—if you are in Christ when he died, when he died, you died. He didn’t die for you only, he died as you. That means God wrote your anger problem and nailed it to a tree.

“So here’s the issue—you don’t have an anger problem. You’re dead. You have a problem with gentleness…. Your anger problem is dead. You don’t have a problem with it. Your problem is you haven’t replaced it with anything from your new nature in God. 

“You don’t have a problem with anger. You have a problem with being gentle. And every situation that you come into where you’re tempted to be angry, the LORD is trying to establish gentleness.”

You see, God is not working on your sin. He’s already dealt with sin. The Bible says He’s dealt with sin “once and for all.” That means He’s not dealing with it again. He’s not dealing with your sin, He’s dealing with your righteousness. He’s saying, “You are a new person in Jesus.”
When God gives you a prophetic word, He’s not saying, “I want you to become this.” He is saying, “This is who you are. Now I’m going to teach you how to grow up in it. But you are this now. “

And so what He’s doing is He’s giving you permission to abide in something greater about yourself than you’ve yet seen. So when you get a new prophetic word, it means the LORD is saying, “I already see this working in your life—all the blessings, all the benefits of being this person belong to you the moment you heard this word. This is your new identity. I want to teach you how to abide in this place.”

So every issue you face after that, you face it in the promise of this new identity. So you can step into it straight away and say, “I’ve got a prophetic word. It’s given me an upgrade in my identity. I’m facing this problem with my new identity. And I’m going to find out how powerful it really is.” 

It’s not that I have to try and become this. I am this. Now I’m going to learn what it looks like. I’m going to face this situation in my new upgrade.

Beloved, I’ve set you apart, for you are Mine and Mine alone. Your heart belongs to Me. You are accepted and chosen, cherished and loved. I AM devoted to you – you mean the world to Me.

Rest in My favor. Be shored up by My strength. For My love is steadfast and true. My eyes are upon you, My ear is attentive, and My heart is forever true. So rest in My goodness, and rest in My love. Flourish in the safe place that My affection grants you. It’s now time to blossom and come to fullness of joy, to bloom nourished by the love that surrounds you.

{Artist note} The word for this was birthed almost completely before the art was ever made. The prophetic download came in a deluge; but once complete, it was clear this word was for the cover piece for the Fruits of the Spirit series God had been birthing. 

As I sat pondering the visual for this piece, I was reminded of a word I received about a decade ago about bearing much fruit, and the visual God gave was a tree bearing multiple types of fruit. So this piece includes peaches, oranges, apples, lemons, pomegranates, cherries, pears, plums, and figs.

Father, may we bear much fruit and may it be sweet, may we have a beautiful harvest, and may we be know for our abundant fruit.
