Honored (In Whom the King Delights to Honor) depicts the path that has been long and sometimes arduous, but you have searched His heart and His word, kept your spirit focused on the kingdom, and walked in humility, as a result He is exalting you. You are one worthy of honor. Worthy of praise. His hand on your life is clearly seen – visible for all to see. Like a glass – cleared and cleaned through time and experience with Him – and His light shining brightly through. He honors those who honor Him.

Romans 13:7 (VOICE) Pay all of them what you owe. If you owe taxes, then pay. If you owe fees, then pay. In the same way, give honor and respect to those who deserve it.

The Hebrew name Amoz (H531) which means “strength”. Strong’s G531 means “unchanging”. Sensing Father is speaking over you “steady as a rock”. He is carrying you, your feet shall not slip. He is your strength. You are an overcomer. He’s taken you through the fire time and again, removing hindrances, and is reminding you of your firm place in Him. He is your firm foundation, and whether this be your time of humbling or being lifted up – He is your rock.

1 Samuel 2:30 (AMP) …But now the Lord declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant and contemptible.

Beloved, when you give honor where honor is due you are also honoring Me. It is a sign you recognize those I have raised up and are coming into agreement with Me. It is more powerful than you know and requires humility to walk out.

And beloved, when you are the one rightly receiving honor, remember then too you honor Me to receive it. You are coming into agreement with what (and who) I have deemed worthy of exalting. Do so with humility, but receive the honor given knowing it not only blesses Me to see you honored and acknowledged, but it also gives Me glory.

The Hebrew word for honor used in 1 Samuel 2:30 is kabad (H3513). Some of the ways this word is used in scripture are: “be weighty, be honourable, be glorious, be burdensome, be honoured, enjoy honour, be made abundant, glorify.” We see from this that honor is a weight responsibility. One is lifted up, but in being lifted up, one is seen and with that there is a burden because you are held to a high level both by man and by God. But as one who has received honor, you carry this responsibility with noble grace, bearing it out in humility, making yourself lesser than He may shine through you all the brighter (John 3:30).

Proverbs 16:31 (GW) Silver hair is a beautiful crown found in a righteous life.

Beloved, embrace the sign of wisdom and experience. It is a crown of honor. Even in moments when others refuse to give honor or bring dishonor (either in ignorance or intentionally), it does not change the fact that I honor the wisdom that comes through years spent with Me. If others choose not to align, that is an indicator of their own state, not yours. For who I give honor to is honored.

{praying} Sensing a prayer over the elders that they would have grace and patience with the younger generation – as they rush about often barely pausing to breathe and who too often in arrogance refuse wise counsel – continue to gently persist in giving it, speaking words of truth and life. As you echo the Voice of heaven and His heart, your words and actions have impact whether you get to see that impact or not. Trust it is there, and continue in obedience reflecting His heart. For it is vital to the body of Christ. Your role is vital. You are a blessing. Thank you.

A word called “As Steady as the Rock” from Elisa Eaton of Waiting in the Wings is connected to this.

You are My treasure, My secret delight hidden in plain sight. You have borne long with Me and followed Me wherever I called you to go. And oh, we’ve had some adventures, haven’t we, My friend? Up, down, all around, you have gone the distance with Me and weathered many a storm. Like a turtle who has carried its home with him, so you have faithfully carried My Word. And when the harshness and heat of wilderness seasons became too severe, you learned to seek the shelter of My Word as your hiding place.

Though the journey has been long and arduous, please do not count yourself out just yet. I have a special plan for you, if you are willing. There are those caught in the wilderness behind you, and desperate for a way out. You know all the pathways, all the pitfalls, and the obstacles that meet wanderers at every turn. Yet you also know the way to the Highway of Holiness. This is the road less traveled but one that takes travelers straight home to Me. On this road, not even fools can go astray.

My Friend, after so much time and experience with Me, you have absorbed more of My nature than you may realize. You are steady and an overcomer who has learned the secret to abiding in the Rock. You are a grounded, safe place for the forlorn wanderer to find refuge. Therefore, because I trust you so, I have a new race and a new commission for you—if you are willing. This is not like the other races I have called you to run before. Do not let them influence your vision of the future. Forget the former things, for this is a new thing I desire to do in you. This yoke will be easy and light, and you will be astounded over My plan for you. I will cause My light to be seen upon you in this dark hour. Whoever has an ear to hear will hear My Words flow through you. Honor Me by allowing Me to honor you now and our longtime friendship. And in this hour, I will cause you to reap a great reward for enduring with Me until the end.

Thank you, Father, for remembering those who have faithfully followed in Your ways. You lead by example and never forget the friends who have honored You. May they receive great grace in the commission you have for them. And may they feel the firmness of your Word at their feet everywhere you send them to walk. Above all, let these priceless jewels in Your kingdom bring you all honor and glory.
