Into the King’s Chambers depicts His beloved reverently ascending into the King’s lair as His glory swirls above Him like a crown.
“Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful! …You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.” Song of Solomon 4:1a, 7, 9
The silk in this image is Flawless. The colors in it are gray representing dove’s eyes, black representing the eye of the Lord, and cranberry representing having no flaw. This reminds the beloved how she may ascend and how her King sees her – through the Blood, thus purified and overwhelmingly beautiful.
With reverential awe, she ascends. Drawing ever closer to Him and the glory surrounding Him. She approaches His chambers in holy fear, overtaken by His love and the intimacy of His desire.
Father, may we allow ourselves to begin to comprehend how You see us through the Blood. May we approach You with holy fear AND boldness, holding nothing back – simply presenting ourselves as an offering. May we truly be overtaken by Your love – though we are incapable of fully understanding the depths of it, may we at least begin to understand that we might dare to believe who we are to You and who You’ve called us to be.
