Beseeching the Lord depicts one humbled on his knees, beseeching the Lord in prayer. Behind him the heavenly hosts race to respond, the reminder that the Lord is our strong fortress rises above them.

“I have heard all about you, LORD. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 (NLT)

The word beseech is defined by Merriam-Webster as “to request earnestly, implore, make supplication (to make humble entreaty, to pray to God, to ask for earnestly and humbly).” Our greatest battles are fought on our knees – in victory and authority – beseeching the Lord in prayer. Not by might, nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6).

{hearing} the sound of thunderous hoof beats. We are soldiers in the Lord’s army, His heavenly hosts surround us. There are more with us than there are with the enemy. This is the war cry of the saints, “He is with us! Behold the Lord and His hosts! The army of the Lord, the army of the LORD!” The earnest, humble prayers and joyous and worshipful praise of the saints arises. Prayer for our youth and by our youth. Worship and victory.  Surrounded by the great cloud of witnesses, interceding for you and with you. Standing ready at your back. You do not fight alone.

In the time of your greatest need, if you will still yourself before the Lord by humbling your heart before Him in prayer, He will give you the strategy to overcome every obstacle. Some answers are steps leading to the final outcome (the life of Jesus in the Gospels), some seem ridiculous to the mind (see Naaman in 2 Kings 5), some seem impossible (see Elisha in 2 Kings 6), and some are a simple agreement (see Mary Luke 1:26-38). However He leads, choose to follow and obey. Obedience is an important act and a life style.

Father, thank You for hearing our supplications, thank You for responding, and thank You for grace in the moments where like Daniel, we are waiting on a response that You’ve already sent but they haven’t arrived (Daniel 10). We trust You. We bow humbly before You. We seek Your face.
