Make Haste depicts running to Him – with a heart full of love. It’s a call to the bride “Awaken from your slumber! Arise and make haste – delay not!”
“I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.” Psalm 119:60 KJV (Hebrew in the image)
“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3 ESV
The silk in this image is called Time to Arise. The colors in it are golden yellow representing awaken and coral representing contrite heart. It is a time to arise. Time is too short to slumber. There is a sense of urgency it’s time to awaken, like the 10 virgins of Matthew 25, let none be caught in slumber. It wasn’t enough for the virgins to be present, they had to be prepared, their actions showing their hearts.
In the same way, our actions reflect our hearts. “The one saying, I have known Him, and not keeping His commands is a liar, and the truth is not in this one” 1 John 2:4 (KJ3). If our spouse professed their love to us all the while trampling on our hearts by ignoring that which was important to us, their words would ring hollow. In the same way, our declarations of love for our Bridegroom ring hollow where our actions do not align with His word and His commands.
Father, help us to see where we fall short in demonstrating our love to You. Help us to align our actions with Your heart, Your will, Your word. We make haste to heed Your instructions that our actions might declare to You and to the world the depth of our hearts for You!
