A Place to Tarry

A Place to Tarry depicts the consecrated place where we meet with Him – a realm for just you two to abide together so that you might lavish your love on one another.

“You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.” Song of Songs 4:12 (NLT)

“Awaken, north wind — come, south wind. Blow on my garden, and spread the fragrance of its spices. Let my love come to his garden and eat its choicest fruits.” Song of Songs 4:16 (HCSB)

The lyrics from the hymn named “In the garden” by Charles Austin Miles are connected to this piece. “I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses, And the voice I hear falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses. | And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. | He speaks, and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing. | I’d stay in the garden with Him, Though the night around me be falling, But He bids me go; through the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling.”

Feel the soft breeze of His breath caressing your face, the warmth of His radiant countenance upon your skin. He takes your hand and tugs you gently – pulling you along as you follow with a skip, a smile, and a giggle. The lush petals brush your fingers and the sound of refreshing waters soothes your spirit. The fresh scents of His creation invigorate and cleanse. He speaks softly to your heart, healing you with His love.

A portion of a post on TruthAndInk.com by Melody Dowlearn called “Intellect vs. Intimacy” is connected to this piece. “And, let me be clear, the goal of intimacy with the King is not revelation–it is simply getting to know God of the Universe at an intimate level.  Every gift beyond that–including revelation–is a by-product of being that close to the one who created the world. …Intimacy is really all about love.  Intimacy with King Jesus will lead each of us into a realization of love that we have never known previously.  It is truly an indescribable experience–an “encounter” would be a more accurate word.  When one truly encounters the Messiah in an intimate and personal way, the weight of the world evaporates.  You can not even contain the love that flows through you, and it is the way you begin to relate to others–through love and not logic.  The more you encounter King Jesus–the more others encounter Jesus through you.  And only those who truly spend time in his presence can authentically carry his presence.”

The name of the silk hidden in this image is Place of Closeness. The colors in it are bright green representing new life and flourishing, amethyst representing merry heart, sky blue representing revelation knowledge, plum representing abundance, and electric blue representing intense feeling.

Father, thank You for a place to tarry. Thank You for allowing us to be intimate with You, for sharing Your thoughts and hearing ours. May our inner healing be complete as we back in Your love.
